A fun fact about me:
I’m selectively adventurous. I love trying new things but detests any “new thing”
involving heights, or creepy crawlies…lol.
How you met the Bride:
Seyi and I both attended the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) but we
weren’t exactly close back then. Our departments were miles apart, so our paths didn’t
cross often. Somehow we’d say hi when our paths cross because Seyi was hard to
miss— she stood out effortlessly with her signature low cut.
At some point, I found out we were actually from the same state, and that little detail
made the casual “hi hi” we used to exchange on campus feel a bit more familiar. We’d
chit chat a bit when we see and keep it moving. But how we went from just waving
acquaintances to actual friends? Honestly, I have no idea…lol! One day, we were just
‘hi hi’ friends, and before I knew it, life after university did its magic.
A favorite memory or experience we’ve shared together
One Sunday night, my girls and I – Seyi included – decided to have a night out, filled
with non-stop gist, laughter, and pure vibes. We were having such a great time that we
had no clue the outside world was plotting against us. By the time we were ready to
head home, Lagos traffic had other plans. A serious gridlock had formed, and let’s just
say, getting home suddenly became a mission impossible.
Since I had work the next morning and Seyi’s place was way closer to my office, I
made a quick, unplanned decision – I’d crash at hers instead of battling the traffic to
mine. Now, mind you, I had left my house thinking I’d just hang out and head back,
so a sleepover was not in the plans at all. The reality of going to work the next day
with zero preparation was stressing me out, but Seyi and I turned it into another fun
adventure.
We went into brainstorming mode, trying to figure out how to get me “work ready”
with the limited resources at hand. From outfit hacks to impromptu styling, we had
the best time improvising & laughing. Eventually, we pulled it off, and I showed up to
work looking just as put-together as ever (if only my colleagues knew the backstory!)
Oh, and the best part? I still have the sandals Seyi gave me that day – it’s now my little
keepsake. Lol!
A goodwill message for the couple
To Seyi & Dimeji:
May your love be as strong as Seyi’s signature low cut – bold,
effortless, and impossible to miss! Wishing you both a lifetime of laughter, adventure,
and endless inside jokes. May your home be filled with joy, your hearts with peace,
and your journey together be nothing short of amazing. Cheers to forever!
